Aurora Aksnes, born June 15, 1996, in Stavanger and is professionally known as Aurora often stylized in uppercase as AURORA is an Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the record label Decca Records in May 2015 with great praise by music journalists and press. The artist has made two covers that have been viewed by the world's media: Half the World Away by the group Oasis in a commercial for Christmas from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry, who endorsed the hit song Runaway from her side, gave it some more recognition. Enjoy her day. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is the discovery of a piano in her attic and becoming fascinated by the sounds it would make. The parents of her May-Britt family and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to take up music not as a profession or a hobby, but for growth. She began writing songs of her own. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an inclination to Bjork's style. When her mother told her that her songs could assist her in gaining popularity, but also help everyone else see their value to the world and appreciate the possibilities for her songs, she opted to perform in public. As a young girl she began to learn the piano and at nine began writing her own songs. It took until her 14th birthday that she told her parents. She never had a desire for her to achieve Aurora. Aurora claims she loves creating songs. Music to her is the most effective way to experience whatever.
